FAQ

Here is a list of questions that have been asked frequently that people who are new to BOA will probably want to know the answer to.

When will BOA be released?

There isn't a set release date yet. We are hoping we can get the demo (which will feature six of the twelve monsters that will be in the full game) by the end of 2017. We are aiming for the full version of the game to be done sometime in 2018.

Will BOA be available on home consoles?

For now, no. The main focus at this time is to release the game on PC and Mac. A console release (and/or a handheld release) may be possible several years from now though.

Can I join the BOA design team?

Yes! In order to join the design team, you must pay $5 via PayPal. In return for supporting BOA financially, design team members receive special privileges on the BOA forums, including:

  • Access to the Official Design Forums section, where you can participate in game development and story discussions and vote on important game features.

  • 50% discount for purchasing the full version of the BOA Video Game.

  • The ability to lock their own (not other members) threads and polls.

  • The ability to move their own (not other members) threads.

  • The ability to create their own custom title for themselves.

Anyone can join the BOA community forums, but only DTMs have the privileges above.

Can my original monster appear in BOA?

Our plan is to finish the demo version of the game before adding more monsters to the roster. Once the demo is finished, we will launch a Kickstarter in order to fund the sprites for the remaining monsters in the game. One of the Kickstarter awards, should it be successful, will be your original monster appearing in the game after completing a collaboration with the game’s creator. This collaboration will take place through Google Hangouts (if you cannot attend a Google Hangout, you do the collaboration in ether a PM on the BOA forums or a PM on Facebook), and once it’s completed, your original monster will be added to the Playable Kaiju list.

Can I come up with ideas for the game's story?

The game's story is discussed within the Official Design Forums section on the forums, which is only available to design team members. You are welcome to post your idea in the Suggestions section on the forums, though it is a lot less likely to be seen, let alone end up in the game.

What sites will the game be playable on?

The demo version will be available to play here on our website and we will give you the option to download the game. It may also be available on other indie game sites as well, such as Newgrounds (the game will NOT be available on Steam). The full version will only be available for download after you buy it.

If there is a question that you have that was not answered here, you can ask G&G-Fan (the programmer of the game) your question here. If there is a question that is asked often, it will be added to this page.
